LOL well do feel free to do so. I have had a mix of hilarity and hard work putting them together. I just can’t stop thinking up weird and wonderful and of course rude sayings to add
Still not sure on the colours etc and how big to make the blog logo.On the mug with bollocks on both sides I went with a fuller but waaayyyyy smaller logo in the centre of the mug and I personally think it works better. The downside is of course, i’d have to redo all the artwork.
To be honest I only want 4 or 5 slogans and offer them in different colour options so people can collect a set if they so wanted and they’d all be different.

But hey, ideas and especially opinions are very welcome.

F seems to think the island belongs to a country. After improving his English, he should perhaps look into the fact that just because some lunatic in the Casa Rosada is throwing out this issue to divert attention from the catastrophic government she is enacting, just as the Junta did in 1982 (with humiliating results, by the way), it does not mean the island “belongs” to Argentina, or even Britain. No one except UNASUL takes UNASUL seriously, so I am loathe to think anything but the islanders’ choice, whatever it may be, is the only recognizable one.

No country “owns” the Islands… it is owned by it’s inhabitants… It was never “Stolen” and the only claim that it is on the same continental shelf is kinda hilarious.
When the Islanders state they want to be independent, Argentinian, Chilean, Brazilian or even Russian – then they will be.
But while they wish to be British, Great Britain will honour the protection they ask for.

I wouldn’t feel shamed as most folks only see and think of the front end of a polished act, rarely does anyone think of or is encouraged, let alone know who supplies and sets up their gear for them.

Argentina should cut their losses with this one, and take in the considerations of those that actually live there. Britain settled the Falklands in the first place, and the locals want it to remain British.

As a contrast, Saint Pierre and Miquelon is French yet is next to Newfoundland, Canada. Canada does not go around making issues about it…

OK so I am getting old but I remember we emigrated to Canada in 1956 on a ship a couple of years later 58 ….mum and I went back to England by ship from Halifax stayed for about 4 months I think but I remember flying back into Canada with my grandmother and mother and a woman who had smuggled a hedgehog on board and my grandmother throwing a fit because she saw the woman with it in the middle of the flight and insisted it be locked up as ” her words” we are all in danger the thing could crawl up the pilots trouser leg…. ( death by hedgehog) ( there was hardly anyone on the plane I was allowed to play at the rear because of all the empty seats

She also told the stewardess the tea was like piddle – sigh . I remember a stewardess giving me little model ariplanes to amuse me….it was a propeller aircraft I remember that , took 14 hours we flew from London to Gander and then to Montreal … Of course there were restrictions on how much cash you could take out and bring into the country and my grandmother stuffed my stocking cap hat with her money to get through customs and told me you be quiet and look tired …..you don’t forget your first flight and mine was memorable

A belated thank you for this post , incredibly well-written and you almost sound like you like me . However I would be remiss in my usual ways by not pointing out one thing to be clarified (ignoring the spelling and grammar, lol)–it’s a 34 hour restart rather than 35. Yes, I agree with the hourly rate with the elog business rather than mileage and contrary to popular opinion, the electronic logs are NOT safer!!!!!!!! I found myself far more tired & stressed than I was prior because I was constantly having to “chase” the logbook instead of being able to hold to my normal sleep patterns.

L, I was actually thru Ohio twice on my last run up to Rochester, must say the 65mph speed limit (which I still couldn’t do because my truck did 64 max with the cruise control) makes the state much more pleasant to drive through.

TWB, thank you again for this and all the “shut up and get the job done” messages. Once I get to blogging again, I’m gonna link to this in mine.

Joanne, while there have been so many aviation firsts since 1783, so many of which capture the imagination.
One that truly stands out to me personally, is the setting up of the first Air Accident Investigation department because of the De Havilland Comet.
While this effectively killed the UK passenger aircraft industry, it eventually found the science of fatigue in pressurised aircraft – something that until that time was totally unknown…
The result was and still is fundamental in modern aircraft design toddy

Ahhhh, well most stuff is rubbish out there… the important thing is to know what is either good or beneficial and what’s not going to take your personal info and sell it to the highest bidder…

Hearsay, the “Latest Thing” are all very well and good etc… but “what do you need and what is bollocks?” are the real questions.

Well you’re in luck, I wrote a short book on the subject after being pushed by Martha Lane Fox to do so… sadly no one wants to publish it because it turns out that most publishers these days have their heads totally up their respective asses and this really was a book designed for print and not electronic online sale (as it negates that actual point).

I will however send you a pdf version by email in the next couple of days

Well I met TWB through the blogs – blogs I can handle and really enjoy – and since I update my blog of the moment every 36 to 48 hours with things from this poor brain of mine the ones that really want to know me and what I am doing just have to check in..I don’t use the fb twit thing on my blog – I get pleanty of notoriety without it

.of course my words on or off the deck aren’t limited ( that takes me back to the days I wrote a column and get it said within X amount of space and words… hated that …… .

I do like the phone though as ATT will attest…. there is something about hearing a voice …..SKYPE I could really use a lesson… but since I am usually in various stages of pajamas I hestitate to each his own but until my fb buddies have more important things on their minds besides the myriad of “cat posters” being clever pussy’s ( today’s topic) I KNOW I should get a better class of “friends” but you wouldn’t belive the people who are the “movers and shakers” on my list…worrying actually ;( I will pass getting more involved – just being an old fart I guess…..

No, the misconception of twitter is mainly media born due to the fact it is more effective than the media. 140 characters are a thing of the past with Tweet deck.
In reality it is a live conversation with everyone you know and others you’d like to know and a real-time live information source for real things around you.
It’s simple, you use it or take/leave it – but do learn to use it. It really is what the internet is about; real information in realtime. If you connected your blog post notifications to it – it tells everyone you’ve posted a new article etc. Something I personally find very useful.

I’ve made a lot of friends through it too. Met a lot of people I wouldn’t have who have for the most part (rightly or wrongly) enriched my life considerably.
Those people include people on my following list and several I don’t actually follow.

Besides, if you ever feel a little bored, there is something always happening on there.

Now there is a slight update here… We didn’t find any awesome places to eat and seeing as this blogs friend and global traveller Dom Joly was out of the UK on a monster hunt (for a new book), I didn’t wish to burden him with a restaurant request again… (he really does know ALL the best places in the world)
But true to Dom’s infinite knowledge on all things of this nature when he learned of my travel to DC, he tweeted over “You should have asked – this is the place to go – “Old Ebbitt Grill”…

So now you have it, you want great food in DC – “Old Ebbitt Grill” is the place to be for it…

Hi Loraine,

I’m on Metronidazol and Erythromycin together.
Metronidazol normally kills this dead without killing all the good bacteria – so no catching colds etc after…
But while I’ve had a lot of these due to the amount I grind my teeth – this sucker has been, well, not the most painful – but generally it’s been the most awful and ill feeling
Pain went the moment I started the drugs on Sunday, facial swelling now dropping away quickly – see Dentist Thurs

Oh dear having gone through what you are going through and finally going under the knife for treatment back in December ( and one day I will write how there are degrees of dentists even in the same office) I would ask how long you have been on the antibiotics and which ones it may take up to 36 hours to get some relief ( the pain will go away but the infection will still be there I was told in my case 10 days before the infection is cleared…and then I had to have another round of a different antibiotic ( which made me sick to my stomach….. How long a flight is it would also be a consideration….. let us know Loraine

Unless it’s a strep type infection then antibiotics will not be any help. They don’t work on flu/colds because they’re viral rather than bacterial

Right, spoke to BA, they state that’s it’s not a very good idea if I still have it 24hrs prior to flight..
They then also added I don’t get a refund…
So, down to seeing if it’s gone within the next 24hrs and Dentist approval to fly :-/

With that many antibiotics in your system, you should be able to fight off all the bugs in the aircon on board, but I don’t know whether your face will explode with the pressure. I say try it and see what happens.

No, I would say that flight is a no-go. Not only do you have the current infection you’re also gonna be susceptible to any and all infections & bugs circulating about. So while the thought of you being frisked & harassed by the TSA is providing endless amounts of amusement, I’m thinking this one is not a good idea.
