Well there’s plenty of news this week – that’s for sure!
Ok, where to start…
The TWBrit Car of Character (CofC) has reached the end of it’s usable life….
I can’t complain because I bought it for £350 and it’s never failed to start other than the day the battery failed.
Anyway, to pass it’s next MOT it’ll need a new windscreen and as of two days ago it requires a new Catalytic converter.
So, time to get shot of it. And where you may ask will it go? Well it will take on a new life as a stock car/ demolition derby – which I may just film (seeing as WKD never shot it)
So, my internet friends – what car should TWBrit have next, be advised I hate spending money.![]()
Talking of WKD though…
While driving her Red Missile to work (BMW Mini), it sadly failed to negotiate a snow drift a short distance from her farm. ‘C’ being her (Kevlar plated) husband promptly arrived to help – by promptly giving her a shovel…
Kinda like the guys style!
Haiti town planning isn’t as good as they thought and some of the images coming out of there are quite disturbing; wish I could be there to help.
Google are removing the censorship on their China oper
ation and that has gone down like a lead balloon with the Chinese authorities – like we have sympathy! – NOT!
The British Military is so strapped for cash they’re looking at major reductions in manpower as they no longer have the funds to pay them…
However, the SA80’s life may well have sadly come to an end with the large whole sale
purchase of a new 7.62mm(0.308) rifle, the LM7 – what???? Like didn’t we have one of those before???
Calibre size is a huge issue and argument. For the most part the 7.62mm round is slightly too powerful as it simply goes straight through the target where as the 5.56mm (0.22) tumbles around inside a target acting like a liquidizer.
As you can see in the article below, I went to Made By Bob the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it. On the way back I ended up rallying through snow for nearly and hour on the Blackdown Hills – it was just after this I noticing an issue with the car.
I am going to add a more indepth section regarding Snow and Ice driving to the Motorway Driving Survival Guide in the coming days or weeks because of the sheer lunacy I have witnessed recently. Well at least it should be a little humourous.

Finally, after all this snow and Ice we’ve been having, my Stabilicers Lite turned up yesterday from the US. To be honest, I think for long term usage, they’ll wear out soon enough. But for basic getting around – these a re perfect. If I break them, I’ll buy the heavy duty ones

To be fair on the mini it had got all the way up to the top of our lane, nearly half a mile uphill, and halfway over the snowdrift before it stopped. Hubby is all for equality, we are a two shovel family after all!! I have to admit I leant on mine for the most part, and put myself in more of an advisory role.
Hi JK. That car is like mine, but shinier and it doesnt have the logo on it although I would imagine TWB could do somthing about that (not a dare TWB).
We sort of share the trouser wearing in this house, but hubby knows whos boss!!!
JK, I really don’t think TWB will E V E R buy a Prius!
I’ve used Stabilicers Lite like those and heavy duty. They’re excellent personal equipment. You will not slip over on ice or snow in them.
Get some kind of 4WD
TWB you could get a mini.
I think it might be a bit of a squeeze, funny thought though..he he.
I hope he wouldnt do anything to my car but alas, I may have sewn the seed, but then I have often thought of doing dastardly things to his car (involving string and strong tape)before I go home but he always parks in full view so people may think I was a bit odd, not that ive ever worried about that before
Sorry JK is the infant with troubles okay?
We were just going to pull the mini out with the tractor but getting the towing thing in just seemed too difficult at 6.45am.
Please dont scuff my car, not too much anyway.
Hubby is embarrassed to drive my car he says its a girls car, not that hes allowed to drive it very often, hes only on the insurance cos it brings the price down (spreading the risk apparently) I would personally call it increasing risk.
Hold on…
No, it wouldn’t be funny watching me trying to pour my lard, sorry – body into a mini
It is a girls car.
I’m really struck now… I only used to put my car elsewhere on days I thought you might actually do something – what an irony!!
I have only thought about it, also what if I used all my stock of baler twine up on your car and forgot to replace the supply…well the concequences are unimaginable.
You could try the mini for size and I could take a very funny photo of you so everyone can share the fun!!
Yes Charlie, doing it in a minute.
WKD (sigh….) bit of a no-go on the foto call because i’d need then to put your car through it’s paces, preferably with you in it. I don’t think you would either go for that nor enjoy it, though you might be a little surprised of just what it can do.
My mother has one and it’s the only car she’s ever owned that she’s not let me drive!
LOL she learned by her mistake when she ask what her BMW was capable of while in a car park – especially the part where I showed her that a car will go around any corner at any speed in 2nd gear without falling over. 35mph on full lock was too much I think, so I let her off at 40 when the back started kicking out
WKD – other than having a sticker put on my mirror, I haven’t seem prolific defacement of property with WKD stickers yet.
Well i think enough has been said about the car saga, it’ll be sad to see the CofC go. (But then seeing the Video of it in a banger race would be fun!!) lol
I’m sure he’ll buy something decent for his next car, a landy or other 4×4. (Depending on funds?)
Cheers
