So, I went to Witney yesterday to see my mother and sister, but more importantly to set up their WiFi. Witney is a place I grew up as a child when not living on air force bases and is a typical market town for that area of the country.
Anyway, they already had a modem, so it simply needed hooking to a WiFi router.
Armed with a card for the laptop, and the WiFi kit I arrived in sunny Witney in the afternoon and set about showing my sister what I need her to do when the Royal Mail eventually turns up with the ram I ordered for her laptop.
Anyway, as itis said; (because I often say it) 86% of all networking problems are due to cabling… well it turned out that the modem they had only had a USB plug – not an RJ45… So while everything else went well, no
connectivity! A quick hunt on eBay and the correct item purchased making the WiFi router I’d got for them redundant (typical!)
Other than that, I got a pile of |Christmas presents to take home, had a huge roast lamb dinner and I loaded them up with a load of TV shows they can not normally get in the UK.
A steady run home down the A40 to Cheltenham and southbound for Devon on the M5. Today, work consists of taking a double-decker trailer up to the Palletline hub in Birmingham.
Tomorrow I have a 16:00 milk run, Bishops Nympton to Cadbury’s chocolate. I haven’t been to Bsh/Nym for a few months – when it was sunny and warm.
For those who may have wondered why I didn’t reply to emails – there a two reasons, firstly I was busy – 2nd, I’m not giving you that email address you want. There aint no waaaay, I’d let you two talk LOL

Sorry you had a part wasted day. But you were a bit rotten replying to my emails in this, besides what is wrong with me having a chat with WKD? I’m sure she would like a chat. You’re such a whimp sometimes!
We had a better day in Houston – the new “experimental drug SGN 35″ for the cancer ( Hodgkins Lymphoma looks like it is working….early days yet but the PET scan showed clear of cancer….. but since this is experimental we have to go day by day ..but better news from Houston – thanks for the support as always Loraine
LOL I can’t speak for WKD JK, But I’d be mighty uncomfortable with you two talking because you know far too much about me and WKD is a work colleague and a kinda distant friend. What I mean is (before I dig a hole so deep, seeing daylight from the bottom will be an issue), she has her own very busy life. When not driving or pottering around on the web, she helps run their farm and all manner of other things.
I’m sure if WKD wants to know stuff, she’ll just ask.
You JK are the epitome of the Devil’s Advocate LOL
I will now ban WKD and JennyK!
LOL only joking
Lorraine, yes it is very early days – but I sorely hope it truly works.
Stick with it, I know that sounds obvious – but you know what I mean
We’re thinking of you
Hello from dark and rainy Bishops Nympton. If i had my laptop with me id post properly – but the 2nd screen will arrive monday. As such il update in this comments section throughout this evening
Im not in any mood to step out of the cab at the moment – maybe not as hardy as WKD whom i bumped into in the today. When the rain stops ill get out of cab – honest
Horrific pile up and fire on the M5 tonight – it would be classed in the highly disturbing sight catagory. Should have brought burgers!
