Hey, so I finally got my finger out and bought some new guitar strings…. I’ve been playing on only five for months and just couldn’t be bothered to restring and service the old beast. But, I was on eBay you see, and there was this deal…. So I’m now in possession of several packs of strings and this morning I patiently sat, serviced and restrung my guitar.
I know, it really does not sound like much and certainly it’s no big deal – but I was hoping to buy another guitar and didn’t really see the immediate point to sorting out this one.
Never the less, it is done and I have a cunning plan to buy a basic Mexican Fender model (because for the most part they’re better than US made ones – oh, and they’re cheaper) and do the modification work to it that I wish – and yes, because I am that clever… 
lol
Oh and the finished article will have absolutely no paint or varnish on it at all, the reason? well I just love the way Bonnie Raitt’s guitar has aged. She bought her Strat secondhand without paint or varnish on it and it just looks brilliant now.
So, after months/years of faffing about with trying out new guitars – an answer has been found to my problems.
