I found it amazing really, considering just how busy everyone is – especially Sabine.
I’m grateful for her direct contact and help with this as I simply wouldn’t have known things like she shattered the lap record yet again last year.

Anyway, how are you? these new F1 rules are amazing aren’t they. Looks like this year is gonna be a good one.

Over the last couple of years my license has been my income, so I needed to look after it. That said, I have still been caught speeding twice. And to be honest, for someone who use to pride himself on the fact I could spot a cop or a camera from miles away – I have obviously lost that knack.
I once had an unquenchable thirst for driving, in the Off-Road stuff I was lucky – to me, I had the best job in the world back then. But the need to conquer new ground, terrain and environments was a serious addiction.
My driving style was destroyed in Saudi Arabia, where you have to drive as badly as everyone else to survive – Road Death being the number cause of death in Saudi!
I’m also not as fit as I was (at the moment) and you need to be fit.
The only time I would ask Sabine to show me how to get around the Ring – is when I have enough money to pay for her time, skill and knowledge.

That said, she does TV and has her own company not mention, races.. So where would she find the time.

DarkheartD; I can drive most things and having once driven at 148mph (no details) in a car designed for speed but certainly not set up for it and with the fact it’s a totally different style of driving – I simply don’t know if I have what something like the Nurburgring requires. When I was driving at that speed I was wondering about tyres, brakes, car balance and stopping. It was hard work.

Patricia R; Yes, I watched many videos myself, especially one of someone setting the lap record in a Corvette at 7:26. There are faster, but that vid gives you a feel for what is required, and I simply don’t believe I have it.
